Ok. Quick question that may be in the docs, but I must be overlooking it. I just had an intermittent failure of p0f. Not sure way, but when it failed, the p0f plugin would timeout, and it looks like the email got bounced then.
      • Is there a way to make plugin timeouts not result in automatic bounce?

Hey John, the general strategy is to get plugins to timeout before Haraka has to time them out..
      • in this case, it'd be better to put a timer in the p0f plugin, of like 5 seconds, because if it's taking longer than that, something is b0rked with p0f.
      • a plugin like a virus scanner OTOH might well need 25 seconds on a raspberry pi
      • johngrasty
        ultimatt: Thanks. That makes sense.
      • ultimatt
if you're able, go ahead and open a PR with a timer. If not, open an Issue and one of us will get around to adding it.

I will try to do that later this evening. I had a strange outage yesterday, and I'm trying to figure out what the root cause was.
      • ultimatt
I haven't seen p0f issues yet (been running with it for 2 years)

Well, it was strange. I saw a redis error popup, then a p0f error, and then haraka crashed.
      • ultimatt
redis error too? That *is* strange...
      • redis has been rock solid for me
      • for years...
      • johngrasty
        Yep. Me too. Strange...
      • ultimatt
might have been looking at symptoms...

        # Background saving terminated by signal 11
      • Yep. That's what I'm thinking. I've got to dig in and see what I have. I have a node and redis core dumps.
      • Hmmm. Maybe it was just a memory issue. That would be nice. :-D
